After a two-year hiatus, we are delighted to announce that the Prairie Political Science Association will be holding its 13th Annual Meeting from September 16-18, 2022. The meetings will once again be held in Banff, Alberta, Canada, located in Treaty 7 Territory, traditional lands of the Stoney Nakoda, Blackfoot, and Tsuut’ina Nations.
The PPSA Annual Meeting is known for its collegial atmosphere and spectacular setting in the Canadian Rockies. The Banff Center offers on-site accommodation, sophisticated audio-visual equipment, day-long catering and child care services for participants. Easy interaction with colleagues in the cafes and restaurants at the Center and in the town of Banff promote the exchange of ideas. Graduate students find the PPSA a positive environment to present their research.
We have something special in the works for this year’s plenary session, which will focus on Diversity on the Prairies. Watch this space for details.
Paper proposals from all fields making use of any of the methods of political science are welcome. Please submit your proposal. Generally, the conference program offers the following sections: Provincial Politics, Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, Political Economy, Political Thought, International Relations, Public Policy/Administration, and Teaching and Learning/the Profession. You will be asked to provide your name, institutional affiliation and a 150 word abstract.
The PPSA conference has often been used to bring together groups of researchers working on a common project. Proposals for a single panel or multi-panel workshops on a particular theme are welcome. Please send panel proposals by email to PrairiePoliSci@gmail.com. Be sure to include the names and affiliations of presenters at the panel as well as the abstracts for their presentation.
Deadlines for both paper and panel proposals will be April 15, 2022. Please send any questions to PrairiePoliSci@gmail.com
