Call for Paper and Panel Proposals Due Friday, April 17, 2026
The Prairie Political Science Association (PPSA) will be holding its 17th Annual Meeting from Friday at 4 pm to Sunday at noon, September 18–20, 2026. The Conference will be held at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada, located in Treaty 7 Territory, traditional lands of the Stoney Nakoda, Blackfoot, Tsuut’ina Nations, and the Ktunaxa Nation.
The PPSA Annual Meeting is famous for its collegial atmosphere, great food, and spectacular setting in the Canadian Rockies. The Banff Centre offers on-site accommodation. Conference fees include two dinners, two breakfasts, a lunch, day-long catering, and childcare services.
Easy interaction and exchange of ideas with colleagues is made possible through shared first-class dining facilities at the Banff Centre and excellent conference space. While maintaining a roughly 2:1 Faculty-to-Graduate student participation ratio, grad students will find the PPSA a positive and supportive environment to present their research.
PPSA Paper proposals from all fields of political science are welcome. The PPSA conference also encourages proposals for single panels, roundtables, or multi-panel workshops.
Please note the following important changes for 2026:
- All presenters: to maximize the opportunities for everyone to participate at the conference, presenters will now be limited to two presentations total across any combination of panels, roundtables, or workshops.
- Student presenters: will have the option of being considered for a new “Research Visits” session. During the Research Visits session, students will be given the opportunity to give a ~10 min. presentation and engage in question and answer with a rotating audience on a timed schedule.
